Allow download of the original/full resolution images
Allow users to download the artwork in its original/full resolution with a simple click on a button or link. This was previously available at wikipaintings.org, so I see no reason why you removed this feature.

I wish I didn't have to scroll and scroll to get to the end of the chronological output of a painter.
Well I think if one is looking at a painter's output chronologically there should be page numbers so I don't have to scroll and scroll to get to their late years.

Let's not have some reproduction website popping up after clicking on a painting.
Whenever I zoom in and try to move around the painting a website that sells reproductions pops up. I don't know if it's supposed to work this way, It's impossible to use.

PLEASE don't simplify art!
Art is great and beautiful, but also complex, confusing and frustrating. Using the same historicist approach that dictates a certain path of art movements through time is allowing for the continued misinformation of the general public, and insuring that poor art historians and critics remain in positions of power (and so the art market prevails over art itself). An encyclopedia of painting is possible, but grouping these artists across time under art "movements" is ignoring their own, individual, nuanced trajectories full of unexpected twists and turns. Please do not disseminate concepts that are still in discussion. The idea of art…

To Create an Application for all kinds of Platform (Android, iOS, PC, etc)
An App Software for such a Visual Encyclopedia would be quite thrilling.
The Software should have a simple interface and a High Definition approach. Should start in full screen mode. Help us browse Art by Genres (by default) and by Style, Technique & Artists if the User so chooses.
Also while seeing an art a "Reference" tab would also be very useful.
Also it would be great if the App has an "Events" section that will provide information about various art events, exhibitions, lectures conducted by various galleries, museums, etc.

Allow to browse by license
It would be good to be able to browse art which is of public domain and free to use, so we can use it for apps without copyright issues

What about David Hockney?
Is there a cut off date for artists? Is Hockney too contemporary?

Jacques Lipchitz - Mistake in his page
http://www.wikiart.org/en/jacques-lipchitz
There is a mistake in the name "Chaim Jacob Lipschitz", in color gray. It must be "Chaïm Jacob Lipchitz"

More Social Media Presence
Post more across instagram, twitter, and facebook. Have a curated artist/artwork of the day, with appropriate hashtags to gain more traction to the site.
It's something I could do officially or unofficially, if the administration here would permit me; post a daily piece of art or artwork, and like it back to WikiArt.

Just a few remarks.
Your advance search option is completely useless - the range of results is always "too big" + lot of other features like "view all" is not working, infinite scrolling is very bad, if i for example browse paintings in one genre its impossible to come back to the picture where i stopped last time, the whole experience with the web app is just frustrating - and it seems its not getting better at all. It is very sad that such an important project is being run by bunch of imbeciles.

Structured data (schema.org): correct some mistakes site-wide
Right now some artworks have been marked up with the schema type Painting. But lot's of artworks are not paintings.
See this installation/sculpture:
https://www.wikiart.org/en/arne-quinze/uchronia-2007
If implemented correctly, this should actually have different markup, ie this:
So if you go to the Structured Data Testing Tool from Google,
https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/?hl=nl#url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.wikiart.org%2Fen%2Farne-quinze%2Fuchronia-2007You should have @type: Painting change to @type: Sculpture.
This is important for WikiArt because it has an effect to the whole web and creates more context in what is known as the Knowledge Graph

Allow users to upload Artwork
I and many other Art researchers have very high quality scans of images, which we could upload. Of course then moderators would have to sift through it all, and someone would have to choose the best images.... but still, it would be a good way to go exponential

I wish I could find "John Maler Collier" here!
John Maler Collier is one amazing English artist with some remarkable artworks like Lady Godiva, Lilith, Tannhäuser in the Venusberg. He painted in the Pre-Raphaelite style, and was one of the most prominent portrait painters of his generation.
More details about him can be found here:

Browse by style
From an art discovery perspective, it would be nice to have the possibility to browse artists by style (and adding links to wikipedia information about these styles would be a plus !).
Great app by the way !

Random Search button
Hi, I've only just discoved Wikiart and think it's wonderful. Just an idea - instead of having to expand Artworks to select "Random", I think a button would be great to introduce users to artists. I've enjoyed using the random feature, just think it could be made a bit easier :)

Add 3 key artists in Dutch painting history - Breitner, Israels and Poortvliet - to collection
Add artists George Breitner, Isaac Israels and Rien Poortvliet. These masters can't be left out in the Dutch collection of painters! All of them are richly featured in the biggest national museums of the Netherlands.
