  1. Support for HiDPI screens

If the work is available at a high resolution (3840 px +), it would be great to view the artwork at HiDPI or "Retina" resolutions.

This can be achieved using the srcset attribute of css (https://webkit.org/demos/srcset/)

  4. Eliminate annoying css animation

The CSS animation at the bottom of each page,
consisting of something resembling four squares,
    is highly annoying.

It is located right before the "footer"
and I believe it is included under the title
    "standalone-loader-cube-wrapper".

It is not straightforward to prevent a browser
from displaying it. Although using firefox
this might be achieved by adding the following
    line to userContent.css:

    div.standalone-loader-cube-wrapper{display: none; visibility: hidden;}

However I would not know how to eliminate it
using other browsers. It would be simpler that
you consider eliminating at the source.

I have little doubt that many users, like myself,
    shall be grateful if…

  5. I suggest to extend the gallery of russian art and sculpture.

There are a lot of russian artist that are not listed on the website. Wikiart should be a place for art from all over the world. It would be easier to study art. I can help in finding necessary images and other information.

  7. Correct the location of "The Disrobing of Christ" by El Greco

Location on page indicates painting was destroyed. This is incorrect. The painting is currently housed in the Cathedral of Toledo in Spain (I should know, I saw it there less than a year ago with my own eyes!).

  10. "Study of a Classical Maiden" NOT A WILLIAM BLAKE SKETCH

    Hello WikiArt,
I was planning on doing a study of a piece you have attributed to William Blake, poet, painter, philsopher. You have it titled, "Study of a Classical Maiden", but in doing my research, I could not find ANYTHING referring to this piece, nor did it exist in anthologies of his artwork. So, I reached out to the Blake Archive and their response was that this sketch does NOT belong to William Blake (engraver), as you have attributed, but instead they suspect Sit William Blake Richmond, the son of Blake's friend George Richmond.

  11. Add content

Please add information on the works. Like the context, stylistic, iconographic, formal analysis of the work. I have an art class and it is the only thing missing so I can study on this site. It's very great!

  14. Update your iOS app since it will become obsolete with the next generation of iOS

Apple will be phasing out 32bit apps in a bit and since the WikiArt app has been neglected, we won't be able to use it in the next gen of iOS, which will indeed be very disappointing since I absolutely love art and history

  18. add incredibly influential Romantic artist Ary Scheffer to your website

I am incredibly surprised you don't have an artist page for Ary Scheffer:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ary_Scheffer

  19. Make it possible to check/mark artists that you already checked out.

I browsed through 50k+ paintings, and I don't want to go over them again, because I don't remember which ones I already saw.
