  1. how can we search artists by birthday

I think it's wonderful that you show artists born on this day. might you provide us the function to manually search artists by birthday though? ie search artists born on December 25th without it having to be Christmas day?

  2. Filter by genre AND by date or style

If I select Artworks > Genre > Cityscape, I can now view 3600 artworks in order, starting in the 1300s. What I really want to see is expressionist cityscapes, or cityscapes from the late 1800s on. At the very least I'd like to be able to reverse the order, or better yet to view the full text list of works, which would allow me to zero in on a time period to start viewing.

  5. Version Enhancement

In editing, under “All versions”, in addition to “Add New Version”, there should be a means of linking to other versions already in the database.

  6. Reconsider your placing Hilma af Klint in the Naive Art/Primitivism category

The term Naive Art could be misleading. Why not include Abstract Art, or Avant grade. She was highly educated, spiritual, and highly complex. Her abstract work seems to have predated Kandinsky, Mondrian, and Malevich. MW

  7. Taken aback by racist keywords

It was horrible to come across racist keywords when I opened the image Coolie (porter) by Vasily Vereshchagin. The keywords are: male-portraits, Primate, Common chimpanzee, Old world monkey

  8. Art Academy of Cincinnati

The Art Academy of Cincinnati should be listed in Schools in America. It's 150 years old and has a long history of art and hold an important place in the Art World.

  9. add great artists like Edna Boeis, margaret rose preston, mabel royds, and other wonderful female block print artists. More women!

I don't see anything on here for great block print artists like Edna Boeis, Margaret Rose Preston, Mabel Royds, Frances Gearhart, Arie Zenneveld. Can we please add them? Many wonderful women wood block artists at the turn of the century and around there that I would love to see represented.

  13. Don't start the pop-up ads for coupons with "You win!".

It feels cheap, to an otherwise great website. Just be honest and say "Here is a coupon" or something.

  14. Navigation is Terrible !!!

It's a real Brain Scratcher that a extensive and important online database like yours would have such Terrible Navigation abilities. NO One will EVER make it to the end of a 1000 image collection one page at a time !!! Your site doesn't even allow the user to go to the last page of a collection. It;s 20 images at a time From Here To INFINITY !!! And lately your system seems to lose track while I'm flipping through the images of a certain genre and erratically displays images from other genres by the same artist. ~~ How about a…

  15. create categories for hybrid artists

Is there a way to showcase (ethnically) hybrid artists (e.g. Joseph Stella, Angelo Savelli, Piero Dorazio, Italo Scanga - to name some that are simultaneously Italian and American artists) as representatives of their home and adopted nations?

Get rid of that Ukraine banner up the top. How about supporting a resolution? Stick to the art and stay out of it.

  19. State the true when talking about the Ukraine-Russia conflict

The banner asking for aid for Ukraine has a statement that is not correct. Russia invasion is not acceptable. But neither Ukraine and NATO intensions to deploy missiles in Ukraine. To put it in context, what would be US reaction if Mexico happily accept to deploy Russian missiles? Probably the same and has nothing to do with Mexico independence. Since Berlin Wall fall is not clear the need to continue with this madness of piling up more missiles. Russia has lost and US has won.

The solution of the conflict is simple, no NATO deployment in Ukraine. That is what…
