  1. Mobile device app/website favourites synchronization

I like your app, so that I use it regularly in trains, etc...

In fact, I like it so much that I sometimes use it at home. But, sure, when you have a computer at home, you may want to view the art pieces on its bigger screen, and there is the website. On the other hand, you lose the ability to add art to your app favourites list by doing so. This is why I think that an phone-app-to-website-account synchronization would be great !

  2. Browse by style

From an art discovery perspective, it would be nice to have the possibility to browse artists by style (and adding links to wikipedia information about these styles would be a plus !).

Great app by the way !

  4. Advanced search

    Amazing website!
but the search system as a whole works really badly (for example, if I try to search for Las Meninas - Diego Velazquez, I get 347 paintings in the search output).
As a frequent user of the website I really think that the first very urgent thing that the page lacks is an advanced search.
It could allow to search by author or painting name by: genre, museum, year, material, style and technique.
If you add this option, it will be really great!

  7. Allow to browse by license

It would be good to be able to browse art which is of public domain and free to use, so we can use it for apps without copyright issues

  8. Please correct the title

Please correct the Russian title of the Jackson Pollock painting Full Fathom Five here http://www.wikipaintings.org/ru/jackson-pollock/full-fathom-five
It says "фантом" (phantom) instead of "фатом" (fathom) which is an obvious mistake. It probably would be better not to translate the title at all, but at least this mistake should be corrected.

  9. Correct Odd Nerdrum's nationality. He is Norwegian.

While Nerdrum was born in Sweden he has never had Swedish citizenship.

  10. Work Incorrectly Attributed

    http://www.wikipaintings.org/en/giovanni-battista-piranesi/st-mary-magdalene-in-the-desert

Searching for depictions of Mary Magdalene to accompany an article, I was surprised when I came across this image. In spite of her being commonly depicted as living as an outcast in the wilderness, I was not expecting Mary to be so muscular and to have grown a full beard.

My scholarship is not on par with some of the others around here, but my amateur examination of this work of art strongly suggests to me that this is not in fact, Mary Magdalene in the desert for the reasons mentioned, as well as the fact that the lush…

  11. Greatest Bulgarian artist

    Dear wikipaintings,
I really love your website with all the wonderful artists. I would like to suggest to add to your database the name of the greatest Bulgarian painter with a unique style - Vladimir Dimitrov-Maistora (The Master). You could find a sample of his work here: http://www.photocreme.com/2012/10/02/vladimir-dimitrov-maystora/
    Best wishes,
    Dobrin

"Drawing Room Holland Park" (1887) is not the work of Lawrence Alma-Tadema, but of his daughter, Anna.

  14. Please separate nude paintings from paintings that depict sexual acts.

Someone who is looking up nude paintings might not want to be exposed to paintings depicting sex. Please put them in different categories.

Hello, first of all, thank you for such a great service. There is just one thing missing: one of the greatest german painters, Hans von Aachen (*1552).

  16. Dear Sir / Madam,

Is it possible that you give each painting an indication of how much a painting is worth. I try my children to learn something of art history. And when there is a price tag, they could be extra impressed. And hopefully they will remember the painting more.

    Yours sincerely
    Marjolijn Goet

  17. Lady Lilith and Beata Beatrix

I suggest that paintings Lady Lilith and Beata Beatrix by D.G.Rossetti should not be placed in portrait genre. Lady Lilith should be placed in mythological, and Beata Beatrix in literary genre.

Than you for considering this remark.
    Sincerely,

    Kristina Grebenar, art history student

  18. Offer options to acquire copies of works.

If I like a painting and want a copy to hang on my wall it would be nice to be given legitimate sources for such an item.

  20. To Create an Application for all kinds of Platform (Android, iOS, PC, etc)

An App Software for such a Visual Encyclopedia would be quite thrilling.

The Software should have a simple interface and a High Definition approach. Should start in full screen mode. Help us browse Art by Genres (by default) and by Style, Technique & Artists if the User so chooses.

Also while seeing an art a "Reference" tab would also be very useful.

Also it would be great if the App has an "Events" section that will provide information about various art events, exhibitions, lectures conducted by various galleries, museums, etc.
