You should remove an image from Corneliu baba page. "Judas' Kiss" painting is made by Vladimir Zamfirescu, one of Baba's students

  3. I wish I could find "John Maler Collier" here!

John Maler Collier is one amazing English artist with some remarkable artworks like Lady Godiva, Lilith, Tannhäuser in the Venusberg. He painted in the Pre-Raphaelite style, and was one of the most prominent portrait painters of his generation.

More details about him can be found here:

  7. Balthus

    Hello wiki team

The painting that was (2 before) seems to have been picked up so no worries there
    However
    There is a duplication of
Drawing Room 1942&1943 I believe it is 1942 however the image size for the 1943 is better.

Well I think that does it for Balthus
    Thanks for your patience
    Cheers
    Lea

  8. Balthus

I may have sent my notice to the Support instead of feedback... sorry
I responded to your email of 12 June via reply email but as the images are still there I assume you did not get my email of 16 June so here it is below

    Hello
    thanks for being so prompt
Unfortunately there is still the following

The young Ogier in the arms of Brother Lahire, 1972

The Baphomet at the desired time

as well as the one 2 before Baphomet

Reclining nude (not to be confused with Balthus own reclining nude) this has an adult woman stretched…

  9. add bookmarking and creating my collection

I really like this new service but I would appreciate adding bookmarking. I'd like to bookmark my favourite artworks, that I wouldn't have to find them again. Signing up and creating my collection would be nice feature too.

  12. Add Michelangelo's Tondo

Why is the Tondo of Virgin and Child with the Young St. John. 1503-1504 missing? There must be copyright free images of it somewhere.

  13. Alfred Sisley and Camille Pissarro

The Bridge at Moret, 1888 is by Alfred Sisley not Camille Pissarro. His signature is in the lower left corner and it goes with the many other paintings he did of the Bridge after he moved to Moret-sur-Loing. :)

  14. Allow intertextual links

Very often painters will paint within the history of painting, (or even of other Arts), and there should be some way for users to create intertextual links between paintings. this could be as simple as for example showing Gerhard Richter's series of paintings where he repaints the Annunciation of Titian, to other things like the connection between the Arnolfini Portrait and Las Meninas, and so on, and so forth...!!! Yay!

  15. Allow users to upload Artwork

I and many other Art researchers have very high quality scans of images, which we could upload. Of course then moderators would have to sift through it all, and someone would have to choose the best images.... but still, it would be a good way to go exponential

  16. Add a zoom fuction

The most obvious thing missing int he current version is a zoom function. Ideally, for research, the images would be of super high quality allowing us to see at a higher resolution than the eye

  19. PLEASE don't simplify art!

Art is great and beautiful, but also complex, confusing and frustrating. Using the same historicist approach that dictates a certain path of art movements through time is allowing for the continued misinformation of the general public, and insuring that poor art historians and critics remain in positions of power (and so the art market prevails over art itself). An encyclopedia of painting is possible, but grouping these artists across time under art "movements" is ignoring their own, individual, nuanced trajectories full of unexpected twists and turns. Please do not disseminate concepts that are still in discussion. The idea of art…

  20. Browse by museum or collection

Fantastic site. How about adding the ability to browse by museum? Great for when you remember where you saw a painting but can't remember the artist's name. Thanks for listening.
